Bridges - Cofferdams

One of the big questions we had about bridges was "how you you build the pillars of the bridge under the water?". We learnt that cofferdams are used to create a dry area where construction can begin and this has been done since Roman times! We made an example of our own using sand, plastic bottles and a syringe.
